Knowledge development and implementation

In addition to managing knowledge itself, knowledge management is about optimising organisational and work processes for effective sharing and efficient application. It forms the glue between gaining knowledge and applying it in practice, and creates a larger commitment in the implementation.

Prescriptor supports physicians in the prescription process, and it has been demonstrated that it is possible to prospectively supply Prescriptor with therapeutic choices and prescriptions that are specifically based on the routine needs in the practice. National and regional formularies (NHG-EVS, ETAS, Nijmeegs Formularium, Groninger Formularium) provide the guidance for these choices. Prescriptor also provides the option of implementing local therapeutic agreements. Such agreements need not contradict existing guidelines, but provide the opportunity for more effective and interdisciplinary guideline implementation.
